1 March 1915 Venizelos proposed to land the 3rd Division on the Gallipoli Peninsula
2 March 1915 General Liman von Sanders became the commander in chief of the Ottoman Army in Canakkale
4 March 1915 Britain, France and Russia signed “Istanbul Treaty” which anticipated the division of the straits. 3rd Australian Brigade arrived at Mondros.
5-6 March 1915 Queen Elizabeth bombarded the central forts.
11 March 1915 Sir Ian Hamilton became the commander of the Mediterranean Expeditionary Forces
12 March 1915 -11th Division came to Bayramich region

-British Marines Division arrived at the island of Limni

13 March 1915 Kitchener directed Hamilton about the necessity of the army
15 March 1915 French Eastern Mediterranean Expeditionary Force commanded by General d’Amade arrived at the Mondros Harbour
16 March 1915 -Ambassador of USA, Minister of Law and Military Attaché of Austria came to Canakkale.

-Admiral Carden retired because of his ill health

17 March 1915 Admiral de Robeck became the commander of the Allied Fleet.
18 March 1915 Allied Fleet attacked the Dardanelles with 30 battleships. French Bouvet, British Irresistible and Ocean were sunk, three other ships were seriously damaged. The naval attack failed to destroy the Turkish defence. The allies failed to open the strait.
23 March 1915 German General Liman von Sanders became the commander of 5th Army. Mustafa Kemal appointed the commander of 19th Division, which was reinforcing 5th Army.
24 March 1915 General Hamilton departed for Egypt to organise the troops.
25 March 1915 Commander of 9th Division took the commander-post of Eceabat.
26 March 1915 5th Army Commander arrived at Gallipoli and commenced to work.
27 March 1915 Churchill informed de Robeck about the decision on the combined attack.
28 March 1915 The last mine line was laid between Tengerdere and Domuzdere

31 March 1915 Third Division was positioned at Erenkoy
