Kemal and his guests left Gallipoli for Istanbul. In Istanbul, Mustafa Kemal explained the
reason of his departure from Gallipoli, to Salih Bozok: I have realised that the enemy
will evacuate the peninsula and proposed to attack but they have refused. That really
irritated me. I was so tired as well, and I came to Istanbul. If I were there, while the
enemy was evacuating, I would be irritated much more. Luckily I am here. |
